Long Island commuters are reluctant to carpool or vanpool because they don’t
want to risk being stranded at work without their car. The Guaranteed Ride Program
offers employees a paid ride in the event that their transportation from work
is unavailable.
A number of qualified employers on Long Island are able
to offer a Guaranteed Ride to their employees through their Commuter
Choice Program Membership.
At LITM, we offer Long Island employers free assistance with
setting up a Guaranteed Ride Program.

Who is eligible? |
The GR program covers those who use an alternative
mode of transportation other than drive alone commuting. |

What trips are eligible? |
The GR program covers unexpected trips such as in
the case of unscheduled overtime or a family member
becomes ill. Participants are eligible for up to four
(4) rides per calendar year. |
